Collaborators
The University of Wales at Swansea has a unique collaboration between Chemical
Engineering
and Medicine that has made it a world-leader in understanding Blood Rheology and
clotting. This expertise is essential for any device that contacts directly
with the blood flow. The Haemorheology Laboratory in the Morriston Hospital is
jointly supported by
the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council and the National Health
Service.
The relevant collaborating groups are led by:
-
Professor Rhodri Williams
is Head of the Centre for Complex Fluids Processing. The
Centre has attracted funding in excess of £3 million.
-
Dr Adrian Evans
holds two positions. He is NHS Consultant in Emergency Medicine
at the Morriston Hospital and University Reader in Haemorheology within the
Medical School.
We have established a long-term collaboration with the University of Wales at
Swansea, where we anticipate that development will be concentrated over the
coming years.
