Photo of Professor Bill Johns Professor Bill Johns has had a career including a senior post in a chemical manufacturing company and academic and consultancy appointments. His academic posts include the position of professor and Head of Department of Chemical Engineering. Over 50 refereed publications cover heat and mass transfer, computer simulation, design and optimization, and his work includes studies in biotechnology and food quality assurance


Photo of Alan Evans Alan Evans has held chief executive and managing director posts for major multinationals in the control industry receiving the UK Microelectronics Award in 1980, He consequently founded his own company specialising in SCADA, MMI and Computer Control for the Process Industry. The company had significant operations in Europe and the USA, and received a Queen's Award in 1988. He has invested and controlled more than a dozen successful small-to-medium companies in the UK and USA. He currently has shareholdings in companies in the West Midlands, Swansea and Virginia (USA) following the sale of his main Holding company to GE Fanuc North America.

Photo of Doctor Ron Knight Dr Ron Knight received a 1st class honours degree from Cambridge University, won the Medical Prize at St. Bartholomew's Hospital Medical School, and obtained experience at leading London teaching Hospitals before being appointed consultant in Respiratory and General Internal Medicine at Frimley Park Hospital. He is an honorary consultant at the Royal Brompton Hospital London. He has over 20 refereed publications and has contributed chapters to a major textbook on Thoracic Medicine. He runs one of the largest Cystic Fibrosis units in the UK. The CF unit was built mainly by money raised by his charity, The Knight Foundation for Cystic Fibrosis, of which he is President. He has been carrying out fibreoptic bronchoscopy longer than anyone else in the UK and has taught a whole generation of chest physicians in the technique. His charity has 'pump-primed' the appointments of a consultant colleague, secretary and data collection clerk.

In the latest figures from the Cystic Fibrosis National Database the Frimley Unit was one of the best 2 clinics in the country for outcome measures.

Photo of David Llewellyn David Llewellyn. After graduating from Swansea and Toronto universities, David moved to PWC in London, where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant working in the Transaction Services and Audit departments. He is a partner in Hafren Ventures LLP, a successful venture capital partnership based in South Wales. He has extensive experience in developing small high-tech companies.

Photo of Judith Johns Judith Johns gained secretarial qualifications before working for a major chemical company. She specialized in scientific and technical work, and also gained experience in a science library. Judith subsequently worked as a self-employed secretary typing scientific and technical books and theses, and texts in foreign languages. She returned to full-time employment as a school secretary before she moved on to become Personal Assistant to the Managing Director of a medium-sized multinational scientific consulting company. Judith was Company Secretary of Chemcept Limited for seven years before also undertaking the same role for Haemair Limited.
